The Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities is hereby amended to establish the following maximum speed limits:

Main Street from Fifth Street to Eighth Street: 20 m.p.h.

Castle Rock Road from 2nd Street to 6th Street: 20 m.p.h.

It shall be unlawful for any person to disobey any stop sign established pursuant to and in accordance with this section, at the following locations:

Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Tenth Streets at the intersection of either, or any, of said streets and Main Street, and shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Main Street before entering and crossing, or proceeding through either of said intersections, or before entering and proceeding onto said Main Street.

Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth Streets, and Sunset Avenue at the intersection of either, or any, of said streets and Castle Rock Road, and shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Castle Rock Road before entering and crossing, or proceeding through either of said intersections, or before entering proceeding onto said Castle Rock Road.

Castle Rock Road, Garfield, Grant, Gove, Main, Park, Long, and Fourth Streets of the intersection of either, or any, of said streets and U.S. Highway No. 40, before entering and crossing, or proceeding on said U.S. Highway No. 40.

The intersection of Second and Garfield Streets is a 4-way Stop.

McKinney, Garfield, Lincoln, Grant, Gove, and Park Streets shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Streets before entering and crossing, or proceeding through either of said intersections.

Sixth Street shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said intersections;  Sixth and Grant, Sixth and Gove, and Sixth and Long Streets before entering and crossing, or proceeding on said intersections.

Seventh Street shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said intersections, Seventh and Gove, and Seventh and Long Streets before entering and crossing, or proceeding on said intersections.

Lake Ridge Road, Hillside Drive, and Southwood Court shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Sunset Avenue before entering and crossing or proceeding through either of said intersections.

Hackberry Drive shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said South Lincoln Street before entering and crossing or proceeding on said South Lincoln Street.

Post Oak Court shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said McKinney Street before entering and crossing or proceeding on said McKinney Street.

Argonne Street shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said North Long Street before entering and crossing or proceeding on said North Long Street. Every driver or operator of a vehicle shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Argonne Street before entering and crossing or proceeding on said Argonne Street.

Fifth Street shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Long Street before entering and crossing or proceeding on said Long Street.

Eighth Street shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Long Street before entering and crossing or proceeding on said Long Street.

Fifth Street at the intersection of Garfield Street, and shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Garfield Street before entering and or proceeding onto said Garfield Street.

Garfield and Grant Street at the intersection of either, or any, of said streets and Third Street, and shall yield the right of way to vehicle on said Third Street before entering and crossing, or proceeding on said Third Street.

Park Street at the intersection of Seventh Street, and shall yield the right of way to vehicle on said Seventh Street before entering and crossing, or proceeding on said Seventh Street.

Garfield Street at the intersection of Sixth Street, and shall yield the right of way to vehicle on said Sixth Street before entering and crossing, or proceeding on said Sixth Street.

Tenth Street at the intersection of Gove Street, and shall yield the right of way to vehicle on said Gove Street before entering and or proceeding on said Gove Street.

Eighth Street, and shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Eighth Street before entering and crossing, or proceeding on said Eighth Street.

Second Street at the intersection of Gove Street, and shall yield the right of way to vehicle on said Gove Street before entering and crossing or proceeding on said Gove Street.

Lincoln Street at the intersection with Second Street and shall yield the right of way to vehicles on said Second Street before entering and crossing or proceeding on said intersection.

East Third Street (eastbound), where it intersects with Park Street.

Park Street at the Intersection with Seventh Street in all directions (4-way).

(a)   It is hereby declared unlawful for any person to park, stop or stand any non-passenger motor vehicle, motor home or trailer, on any highway, street or alley within the City for a period exceeding 72 consecutive hours.

(b)   It is hereby declared unlawful for any person to park, stop or stand any Semi Tractor-Trailer (tractor or trailer) on any highway, street or alley within the City except for (1) loading and unloading or (2) in areas specifically designated for such parking by the governing body.

It shall be unlawful for any person to use North Long Street, from Old Highway 40 north to the City Limit, in the City of Quinter, Kansas as a through street when driving a motor vehicle, including attachments thereto, with a gross weight in excess of 12,000 pounds.

(a)   The east side of Garfield Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets is designated as a resident and occupant only parking zone. Residents living in residences and occupants working in buildings on the east side of Garfield Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets are responsible for providing to the City written descriptions of vehicles they own or operate

(b)   The west side of Garfield Street between 521 Garfield Street and the stop sign / intersection located at 6th street and Garfield shall hereby be designated as a No Parking zone.

It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle to use or operate or cause to be operated within the City any mechanical exhaust device designed to aid in the stopping or braking of a vehicle, in a manner so as to create excessive, loud, or unusual explosive noise from a vehicle. This prohibition shall include but not be limited to the procedure commonly known as ‘jake braking’ and ‘compression braking’. Upon conviction for violation of this provision, punishment shall be a fine of not less than $100.00 nor more than $500.00 plus court costs.
