A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF QUINTER, KANSAS, FROM CERTAIN PORTIONS OF K.S.A. 12-1697, K.S.A. 12-1695 AND K.S.A. 12-16,101 AND REPEALING CHARTER ORDINANCE 12.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF QUINTER, KANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Quinter, Kansas, is a city of the third class, and by the power vested in it by Article XII, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to exempt, and does exempt itself, from, and make inapplicable to it, that portion of K.S.A. 12-1697, which authorizes the levy of a transient guest tax; said statutes not being uniformly applicable to all cities in Kansas.
Section 2. In place of that portion of K.S.A. 12-1697 referred to above, the governing body of the City of Quinter, Kansas, is hereby authorized to levy a transient guest tax at not to exceed the rate of four percent (4%) upon the gross receipts derived from or paid by transient guests for sleeping accommodations, exclusive of charges for incidental services or facilities in any hotel, motel or tourist court.
Section 3. All other provisions of K.S.A. 12-1697 shall remain the same.
Section 4. In place of that portion of K.S.A. 12-1695 and K.S.A. 12-16,101 referred to above, the mayor and council members of the City of Quinter, Kansas, shall constitute the Board of Convention and Tourism.
Section 5. All other provisions of K.S.A. 12-1695 and K.S.A. 12-16,101 shall remain the same.
Section 6. Charter Ordinance No. 12 is repealed.
