A Charter Ordinance exempting the City of Quinter, Kansas from the provisions of K.S.A. 1994 Supp. 79-5028 and providing substitute and additional provisions on the same subject increasing the rate levy limit.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF QUINTER, KANSAS:

Section 1. The City of Quinter, by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas and as provided by K.S.A. 1994 Supp. 79-5036(a), hereby elects to exempt itself from the provisions of K.S.A. 1994 Supp. 79-5028. K.S.A. 1994 Supp. 79-5028 is part of an enactment commonly known as the Kansas property tax lid law, which enactment applies to this city but does not apply uniformly to all cities.

Section 2. The following is added to the provisions of K.S.A. 1994 Supp. 79-5028 and amendments thereto: (h) the levy of taxes by the Governing Body of the City of Quinter for the Library Fund as authorized by K. S.A. 12-1220 to the extent of ten (10) mills.

Section 3. Charter ordinance No. 8 is hereby repealed.

Section 4. Charter Ordinance No. 10 is hereby repealed.
